Major new features in LibreOffice 4.0
The full list of changes in LibreOffice 4.0 is too long for a news release, although we will review the most striking, you can see while downloading the suite if you want to try LibreOffice 4.0, or if you are already users of the product.
-Integration with content management systems several documents through CMIS.
-Better interoperability with DOCX and RTF formats, thanks to several new features and enhancements, including the ability to import and attach comments handwritten text into sections.
-Ability to import Microsoft Publisher documents and improved import filters Visio 2013 version included.
-Visually, LibreOffice 4.0 includes changes to the user interface, especially in the form of dialog boxes represent, and compatibility with Firefox Persona themes, which allow you to customize the appearance of LibreOffice.
-Integration with Ubuntu Unity.
-Best resized images with better compression ratios by Compress Graphics.
-LibreOffice 4.0 brings four new open source font families.
-Calc, the spreadsheet module of the suite, has improved its performance, and new features such as exporting graphics in JPG and PNG formats, plus new features, consistent with ODF OpenFormula.
-An interesting new feature is the ability to remotely control Impress, the presentation module, through a device equipped with Android. This feature is only available for some Linux distributions. Future releases will be compatible with most flavors of Linux, Windows and Mac OS X.
-Significant performance improvements when loading and storing many kinds of documents, particularly for XLSX and RTF formats.
-Writer, the word processor, can act as an interpreter for the Logo programming language.
